I have always believed that charity begins at home. As a result, the Dollywood Company and the Dollywood Foundation are helping to establish the My People Fund to provide a hand up to those families who have lost everything in the Smoky Mountain fires. I have been watching the terrible fires in the Great Smoky Mountains and I am heartbroken. I am praying for all the families affected by the fire and the firefighters who are working so hard to keep everyone safe. It is a blessing that my Dollywood theme park, the DreamMore Resort and so many businesses in Pigeon Forge have been spared.

Wiki
The Dollywood Foundation is the organizational body that oversees Dolly Parton's Imagination Library, a free children's book distribution program started by Dolly Parton in 1996. The program is based at her Dollywood theme park near Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. Every child in Sevier County, Tennessee, the area where she was born and raised, is eligible to receive a free age appropriate book each month in the mail until the age of five. The program has since expanded to over 1600 local communities in the US, Canada, and the United Kingdom. The program can be implemented in other communities by private organizations, and the Foundation is responsible for the distribution of books in those participating communities.
