Drue Heinz (born Doreen Mary English; March 8, 1915 – March 30, 2018) was an American patron of the literary arts, actress, philanthropist and socialite.[1][2] She was the publisher of the literary magazine The Paris Review (1993 to 2007), co-founded Ecco Press, and endowed the Drue Heinz Literature Prize.[3] She was married to H. J. Heinz II, president of Heinz.

Obama Foundation aims to create a platform for young, up-and-coming leaders
(CNN)Former President Barack Obama says he aspires to create "a million young Barack Obamas or Michelle Obamas" who will pick up the baton in what he describes as the "relay race that is human progress."
At a conference in Japan on Sunday, the former president spoke about how he hopes the Obama Foundation, a nonprofit formed in January 2014, will help achieve his post-presidential aims.
"After I left office, what I realized is that the Obama Foundation could potentially create a platform for young, up-and-coming leaders, both in the United States and all around the world to come together, meet together, create a digital platform where they could exchange information," Obama said.
"If I could do that effectively, then I would create a hundred, or a thousand, or a million young Barack Obamas or Michelle Obamas," he added.
Obama's remarks were previously reported by other media outlets, including The Guardian and The Washington Examiner. The former President has been on an Asia-Pacific trip that also included stops in Singapore, New Zealand and Australia.
"The single most important thing I can do is to help develop the next generation," he said Sunday.

Cisco continues its CSR efforts, invests $50M in Destination: Home
【張凱翔╱綜合外電報導】全球最大網路設備製造商思科（CISCO）前天宣布，將分5年捐贈5000萬美元（約14.5億元台幣）給幫助遊民的社福團體，解決矽谷所在的聖塔克拉拉郡遊民爆增問題。
問題達危機等級
思科執行長羅賓斯（Chuck Robbins）在公司部落格撰文指出，舊金山灣區遊民的問題已經達到危機等級，當地政府每年花費高達5.2億美元（約151億元台幣）仍解決不了問題。「雖然遊民問題看似棘手，但我仍相信這可以解決，……我強烈感覺到有機會和責任去做點什麼」，並呼籲其他科技公司一起捐錢、解決矽谷遊民問題。據統計，該郡遊民已超過7千人。
《華盛頓郵報》報導，思科這筆捐款將捐給一個非營利組織「目的地：家園」（Destination: Home），主要目標是為長期無家可歸的人提供永久住房。北加州地區因科技業蓬勃發展，但大量勞工移入加上數十年住屋短缺，卻讓矽谷遊民氾濫。

【蕭文康、王文傑╱花蓮報導】台積電力挺花蓮！除了2月底已投入幫助災民重建，昨天更由台積電慈善基金會董事長張淑芬率領超過700位員工及眷屬，搭乘首發專案列車前進花蓮，進行2天1夜的觀光行程，張淑芬說：「台積電以實際行動、購買力來振興花蓮觀光。」
每人補助３千元
有別於花蓮地震捐款引發爭議，台積電慈善基金會替花蓮災後重建進行募款，共募得5700餘萬元，並於2月底投入當地災後重建，將替近400戶受損民宅進行修繕，目前完成約200戶，工程預計今年6月底前完成，屆時會比照2014年高雄氣爆重建完工後舉行感恩會。
台積電與台鐵合作的花蓮專案觀光列車，昨首發，由張淑芬帶領員工及眷屬前進花蓮觀光，並規劃在年底前再安排8個梯次的觀光專案列車，估計約6500位台積電員工及眷屬會前進花蓮，幫助當地觀光業，台積電對每位員工最高補助3000元津貼。

收到我去世好友Delia Davin教授（中國婦女研究專家，享年73歲）的先生Owen的來信。有三件讓我非常感動的事要與大家分享。英國慈善機構因有上百年的歷史，故其成熟度，是全世界最高的。
一，英國有「照顧者慈善機構」會給照顧者一筆小獎助，規定只能用在照顧者身上。這真是非常好的設計。
二，70歲的照顧者Owen，是一位游泳老手，決定用此筆獎助重新學習自由式，目標是在75歲參加英國湖區的長泳活動（有2，5，10公里）
三，在英國很多人藉由自己參加某項運動活動，請朋友捐助自己支持的慈善機構。Owen選擇的是在Delia 癌症末期照顧她的「安寧療護」機構。這機構的護理人員在Delia生前定期去看她，給止痛藥，讓她可以在家中平和地去世。這是非常好紀念Delia的方式。

我就點上網，捐款30英鎊，我可以看到是目前11位捐款者中最高的金額。這說明大家都是小額捐款，那麼每個人就可以捐給很多慈善機構了，雨露分沾。發現英國政府還有額外多給慈善機構免稅25%的機制。在此學習到了慈善事業國家制度的一課。台灣有很多善心人士，但還沒有這樣細緻的捐款機制的設計。

Swimming the Great North Swim in memory of Delia
Dear Friends
During the dark days, when my wife Delia was dying, I was offered a small grant by a carer’s charity on condition that I spent it on myself.
I decided to use it to pay for swimming lessons.
I have swum all my life, but because I had never had a formal swimming lesson, this meant I swam with a slow and rather inefficient breast stoke.
I decided that I wanted to learn the crawl, and as a goal, I decided that my aim should be to do the Great North Swim, in Windermere, by the time I was 75.
My first lesson was a year ago. I could not manage one length of the swimming pool doing the crawl. Now, a year later, I normally do about 40 lengths or more every lesson.
So, this June I shall be doing the Great North Swim in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support and in memory of Delia, remembering the help and support that she received from palliative care nurses that enabled her to die at home as she wished.
And to make that remembering a little more concrete, I hope that friends may like to sponsor me, as I swim, by giving something on my Just Giving page.
