UNIQLO Donating 10 Million Masks for Medical Institutions Worldwide!
UNIQLO‘s parent company Fast Retailing is donating 10 million masks to help doctors, nurses, and hospital workers who are helping fight the global health crisis we are in.
If you don’t know, there is a shortage of PPE (or personal protective equipment) for hospital care workers to adequately protect themselves.
In support of efforts to combat the shortage, UNIQLO’s parent company Fast Retailing has enlisted the help of its manufacturing partners in China to procure approximately 10 million protective masks. These masks will be donated to high-priority medical facilities around the world where there is an urgent need for protective wear, namely the United States, where around 65,000 cases have been confirmed.
Fast Retailing will donate 1.05 million masks through UNIQLO USA starting early April. These masks will be supplied to local medical facilities through the New York State Government.

今天早上羅東聖母醫院的呂若瑟神父又寫了一封信，文長。我簡單截取一些大概~~
一，
募款中心同仁在連假期間向外界粗估的大約3000筆捐款、總計約一千餘萬元的數字之外；周一，醫院裡的會計同仁上班後，核算來自郵局和銀行的轉帳及匯款總數後，金額竟然高達將近一億元，匯款人次更超過2萬筆！也就是說， 總計這六天來，台灣社會踴躍捐輸， 希望透過靈醫會代轉的善款， 將近1億2千萬台幣 。
二，
我們感受到台灣社會的濃郁愛心，但卻完全沒有想到湧入的金額竟是如此龐大，所以我們必須向台灣社會鄭重抱歉，有關送愛到義大利的捐款，除了感謝，還要拜託您:不要再捐了。
三，
這次的善款如此龐大，如果這次捐款的2萬多位善心朋友之中，若有任何人認為金額已經太多，覺得不需要捐，要轉把善款用在更需要的刀口上的，我們也誠摯地接受您隨時可以要求退還捐款，或者把這筆善款轉作其它捐助事項。我們確信，您這份愛心，就算不花在義大利，也絕對會花在任何一個需要幫助的人身上。

深夜，我一面回味這幾天台灣社會不斷帶給我的巨大悸動，一面回顧走過的這五十五年，最終，真的要感謝天主當年把我帶到這裡來。 再次謝謝台灣。此時我更堅信，這就是我一生都想留在這裡的原因！

幹，真的好想哭!
記得幾年前，吳念真導演為聖母醫院拍募款廣告蓋醫院新大樓，募集金額達標時，神父們也是立即關掉帳戶，不希望捐款資源都集中到聖母醫院。
這次也是!
試想，台灣有多少『慈善單位』會勸大家「不要再捐給我們了」？或「你們可以來退款」？
有多少醫院會讓貧苦人家看病賒帳，幾年後再一把火燒掉借據？

【台灣人愛心滿溢 真的還了義大利神父一大斗！】
武漢肺炎疫情肆虐義大利，讓在台灣服務超過半世紀的呂若瑟神父急著為缺乏醫療資源的家鄉向外求援，沒想到台灣人的愛心真的滿到止不住，短短6天竟然湧入1.2億元善款，讓天主教靈醫會緊急在今(7)日上午對外喊停，呼籲國人別再捐款，把愛心繼續留在台灣更需要幫助的人!!
呂若瑟神父並發出公開信，為家鄉義大利「謝謝台灣」，還引用鄭南榕名言「好國好民」，感動的說:「這真是一個好國好民的好地方」，「感謝天主當年把我帶到這個地方來，也更堅信這就是我一生都想留在這裡的原因！」

義大利籍神父呂若瑟，來台奉獻將近60年，創立宜蘭羅東聖母醫院。家鄉疫情嚴重，讓當地醫療短缺，他趕緊向外界求援，希望大家能夠伸出援手。不到5天的時間，現在捐款已經破千萬，甚至還有一位83歲的賣菜阿嬤，騎好幾公里的腳踏車，捐出自己一個多禮拜的所得800元和8個口罩，讓神父相當感動。

電視台民調，台灣有三分之一的人支持捐贈口罩給國外疫情嚴重的國家，約三分之二的人認為自己人都不夠用，憑什麼要捐。陳學聖在電視節目上指著手機上一群人排隊買口罩的畫面，說這是我們的困境，反映一種普遍的心聲，口罩就像財富，永遠不嫌多。老實說，我對這結果是有些訝異，原本以為會有更多人以開放的態度來看待這件事情，不是為了口罩外交這麼功利的考量，純粹就是救助。能不能夠買到口罩現在是一種幸福的指標，在有些國家，想排隊買都沒得買，有的還沒法出門，美國人要用圍巾，世界上不知有多少人因為沒口罩戴染病死亡。口罩捐出去是給遠比我們不幸的人戴的，所以，無論隊要排多久，在台灣的人都應該覺得自己幸福。自私雖無可苛責，但只有跳脫出自己，感受一下別人的受苦，才會知道知足和珍惜，當你不再抱怨，日子就比較容易過。不只一次體會，幫助別人，最後受益的是自己。
